Was ist das?

I began another cross stitch project a couple weeks ago and here are the beginnings.

By now I am actually about 75-80% finished with this, but I am posting these for a couple teasers. Picture #2 is a pretty good hint, I think, but I will be posting a major hint in a couple days.

Thanks to Skype, my in-laws have a huge advantage, since the Partner-in-Crime showed them the project when I was close to the halfway point. But, if you have a guess, let me know!
