Or really, Flower Umbrella Song. (Apologies to Rogers & Hammerstein.)
I've got a couple projects in the works, but thought it was high time for an update of some sort. I made my almost weekly (only a slight exaggeration) pilgrimage to Hancock Fabrics and, of course, they had tons of cute fabric. I decided to go with multi-colored Asian-inspired umbrellas and brown flowers. Both are cotton. I bought both with the intention of making a skirt, but I didn't really have one specifically planned out.
So when we got home, I looked through my Sew What! Skirts to find something that would work. I was thinking of using the brown flowers as a border and using the umbrella print for the main part of the skirt. I have pretty much decided to go with the "East Meets West" skirt pattern in the book. The PIC has even made a basic sketch of what the skirt will look like. I still need to pick up various notions for the skirt and then I'll be all set to start working on it.
Tschau!
