I'm a Scrooge. Why? Because I dislike Christmas in July, August, September, October, and November. It's not OK to "get your Christmas on" before Thanksgiving. True Story: the Partner-in-Crime and I stopped by Toys 'R Us a while back and he saw the Playmobil Nativity set. He's been looking for this set for a couple years now and so we had to buy it. (It was, I must say, reasonably priced.) He was so super pumped about it, he had to get it out and look at it when we got home. It's a fun little set. I am a fan of the baby Jesus and nativities, but He's been packed up again until after we celebrate Thanksgiving.
The only Christmas-y thing I can endorse pre-Thanksgiving (other than Jesus), is Christmas shopping. Not shopping for Christmas things, but shopping for Christmas gifts. Indeed, if you find a deal on an awesome gift for someone in February, go for it. And so, this brings me to my crafty point: Etsy. It's a cool website that lets people sell their hand-crafted wares. There is a slew of crafty goodness on this website. Seriously, go check it out. There are, of course, wacky bizarre items for sale, items that I am not sure what they are for or who even buys them, but for every wackadoodle item there are probably five amazing items. So, what can one find on Etsy? Things like fabric, vintage and new patterns, and sewing supplies. And also: ceramics, lotions/lip balms/soaps, books, paper crafts (like stationery), candles, furniture, "geekery" (where one can find many a goofy item), music, art, plants, edibles, jewelry, housewares, etc, etc, etc.
And yes, the PIC and I have already purchased someone's Christmas gift from Etsy...I can say no more.

I can still "say no more" about the gift I bought from Etsy. It's not Christmas yet! I'll let everyone know after it's been given! :o)
