Oktoberfest, Snicklefritz Style: Halloween Decorations!

Happy Halloweekend!

Our Oktoberfest celebrations continue at the Snicklefritz ranch.

This time, we've got a two part update: a festive banner and a goofy ghost greeter!

We had plenty of help from the one we call the "other cat" as we finished up the garland. You may know him as the "fabric inspector."

He held things down, and he furred them up. He'll probably be bragging about it on Facebook later.

He's great, a real big help.

The garland-banner thing features candy corns, and black and white points, with ghosts and cats.

The points are made from basic quilter's cotton.

The ghosts and cats are made from felt that is machine-appliquéd.

The points are held together in banner form by a pack of 1/2 inch double-fold bias tape.

Here's a shot of the banner, brightening up, or spookifying our entryway. Also, note the awesome McDonald's pumpkin buckets that are on the banister rail. They're vintage, and have been impeccably preserved by Frau Snicklefritz's Mutter.

The Goofy Ghosty Greeter, following McCall's Crafts pattern number M5949, is made from white felt, sandwiched around some batting. The eyes are two stacked buttons, and the cheeks are pink felt, hand-appliquéd to give him a little life. The mouth is machine satin-stitched.

Together, they make for a festive place to pass out candy to the scamps that stop by this Sunday!

BOOOOooOOOOoooOOOO!

I wish I could bring my trick or treaters your way tonight, but that would be a LONG car ride for one house! Moose
