Mr. Redlegs!

We recently silk screened some t-shirts to show our appreciation for Mr. Redlegs, the beloved mascot for the Cincinnati Reds. Pictured here are three Mr. Redlegs shirts for me, my Partner-in-Crime, and my brother. Also pictured is a Mr. Pinklegs shirt for one of my little nieces.

Wait, what? A Mr. Pinklegs?! What the hey?!

My niece received a Mr. Pinklegs shirt because both Michael's and Target let me down in my hunt for a little red t-shirt for the PIC to silk screen. (To be fair, Target did have little red t-shirts, but they all had chest pockets. Only the little pink t-shirts had a plain front.)

This is a two color screen print: black and white. So, finding a red (or pink) t-shirt was important.

To ease the screen printing process, the PIC was able to fit both the black and the white design pieces on his one and only screen. Score! If both design pieces had not fit on the single screen, the PIC would have had to screen print one color (either the black or the white) onto all the shirts, clean off his screen, and then redo the screen with the other color's design. This means he would only have been able to make a predetermined number of t-shirts.

Because he was able to fit both design pieces onto his one screen, he could make any number of shirts because he kept both color patterns and did not have to erase one. This came in handy when my sister decided both she and her husband would love to have Mr. Redlegs shirts of their own, too. Of course they do.

Well, I say, "Who don't love Mr. Redlegs?" Seriously, the man has crazy eyes, CRAZY EYES, and check out that handlebar mustache. Awesome!

The PIC and I were able to wear our new t-shirts for a Cincinnati-Cleveland game this past weekend. The Reds won, and I'd like to think it was because of our t-shirts.

So, you're welcome, Cincinnati Reds.
