More of the Same :o)

Greetings to you! It's been a little over a week since I last updated...but I didn't get to work on my stitching until Thursday afternoon. I did not get a whole lot more accomplished, but it's slowly starting to actually look like something. And yes, I will be using all the colors pictured in an earlier post, I promise! I just seem to be stuck on green for now--that is where the center of the design is, in the green, so that's where I started. To keep myself from getting totally confused (that whole varying shades of a certain color fiasco again), I am trying to finish up each grouping of green before moving on to the other colors.

In other crafty news, I finally purchased a copy of Bend-the-Rules Sewing by Amy Karol!! I became pretty enamored with this book when I borrowed it from my sister to make some coasters. :o) I've made three projects from it already (coasters, my cherry tote, and the zip pouch-Spitze!), so I figure it's a good buy. Plus, I bought Doodle-Stitching by Aimee Ray, which is an embroidery book. Several of the projects look super neat, so I'm excited about getting this one, too. I used some of my birthday money for these, so I really appreciate the books as gifts. I ordered them from Amazon.com, where they were discounted some, and I got free shipping. I have found that if one goes with the "Super Saver" free shipping, which says it will take 5-9 business days, it usually takes 2-3. And that's pretty good considering I live in Siberia, I mean, on the Shore. :o) And I also like the fact that generally the items on Amazon.com are discounted some, without having to have a twenty-dollar-a-year membership--take that B&N!

Actually, Barnes and Noble charges $25 a year for membership. And I'm not sure what their perks are, other than getting 40% off hardcover books.
Other than the cross stitch, have you stared any new projects? Sewing, or with your new embroidery book? I bought some fabric to start a new sewing project, but I haven't actually started it yet, other than pre-shrinking the fabric. Look at my blog for some updates (not yet, though, because I haven't posted anything about the sewing project).
Sis, I'm glad to see that you're powering through Robert's passing. Keep stitching! It'll ease the pain. I expect you'll probably add some kind of "Camelot" reference to the Snicklefritz crest now, in honor of Mr. Goulet.
ACK, I was thinking $25, those bums, but the PIC thought it was only $20. And, as far as I know, the 40% off is the only perk. I guess if one spends a lot at B&N, one would make back the fee...but seriously! Why pay for a discount when one can purchase items discounted at Amazon.com? Like I did. Sure, I did not have the books on the same day, but I think it was worth saving $10 or so.

Hey, why is it that I can't click on this picture to see a larger version? And why are some your pictures extremely close-up and some are not (when you click to enlarge them)?

And, on a completely unrelated note, I've just noticed that even though I have been properly hitting the space bar twice in between my sentences, Blogger automatically cuts it back to one space between sentences. I wonder why that is.
Hmm, I don't know why this picture won't click to enlarge, nor does the PIC. I did not post it any differently compared to my other pictures. Are you checking to see if I messed up some of the stitches? Is that why you need an extreme close-up?

And, to answer an earlier question, I'm pretty much just working on that cross stitch for the moment. I do have fabric for a project from Bend-the-Rules Sewing, which I got when I was borrowing the book from you. Then I had to give the book back. But now I have my own copy! So, I will probably start working on that project sometime soon. And I also have some fabric for a couple other projects, too, that I need to get started on.

No, I'm not checking to see if you messed up any of the stitches...one can see the large mistake in the center of that leaf without the extreme close-up. (Simmer down, I'm just kidding.)
I actually wanted to view the extreme close-up to make sure you had properly sorted your greens.

About the extreme close-up...I meant that some of the pictures, when enlarged, become huge and you have to use the scroll bar to see the whole picture. But some of the pictures, when enlarged, do not become THAT large. Why is that?
